Environmental Education, Heritage and Equality Programmes

What environmental education, heritage and equality programmes are
These are outreach and awareness-raising activities designed to convey knowledge, values and habits relating to environmental conservation, the valorisation of cultural heritage and equal opportunities between women and men. They are aimed both at the general public and at specific groups: schoolchildren, company staff, municipal technicians or local communities affected by a project.
These activities are a regular component of environmental monitoring plans and of the compensatory or social-accompaniment measures of renewable energy and infrastructure projects, as well as of the corporate social responsibility strategies of companies in any sector.
Types of activity
- Workshops and training sessions on biodiversity, climate change, circular economy, forest management, responsible consumption or agroecology, adapted to the profile of the target audience.
- Cultural and historical heritage outreach, including guided visits, educational materials and interpretive signage on projects with archaeological finds or significant heritage features.
- Gender equality awareness, complementing mandatory equality plans with training activities aimed at the workforce or the community.
- Environmental communication campaigns aimed at municipalities or communities affected by a project, explaining the environmental measures adopted and the channels for public participation.
- Educational materials and resources for schools, adapted to different educational stages.
When they are needed
These activities are particularly relevant in the following contexts:
- As a compensatory or social-accompaniment measure within an Environmental Impact Study, required by the Environmental Impact Statement (the binding resolution issued under Spanish Law 21/2013) or agreed voluntarily with the affected municipality.
- In corporate social responsibility strategies and sustainability plans of companies wishing to strengthen their commitment to the territory and the local community.
- In projects with significant archaeological finds, where heritage outreach reinforces the social acceptance of the project.
- As a training complement to the equality plans that are mandatory for certain companies under Spanish regulation, reinforcing their real implementation in the organisation's culture.
How they are designed
The design process for these activities follows these phases:
- Identification of the target audience and its specific training needs.
- Definition of pedagogical objectives and content adapted to the level and context of the group.
- Development of educational materials: presentations, guides, interpretive fact sheets, audiovisual resources.
- Delivery of the sessions, workshops or campaigns, with technicians specialised in each field (environmental scientists, archaeologists, equality experts).
- Evaluation of the training impact, through satisfaction surveys or monitoring indicators where the project requires it.
Why choose Ideas Medioambientales
We design and deliver environmental education, heritage outreach and equality awareness programmes with our own multidisciplinary team: biologists, environmental scientists, archaeologists and equality experts. This allows us to design technically rigorous content adapted to the real context of each project, integrating it with the rest of the environmental, social and monitoring measures we are already carrying out.
Tell us the context of your project or company and the audience you want to reach, and we'll propose the most suitable format across Spain.
